The Quantitative Aptitude section in the RRB PO 2025 Exam is all about speed, accuracy, and smart time management. Since the Prelims paper tests your ability to solve 40 questions in a limited time, you need a strategy that combines strong conceptual clarity with consistent practice. Here’s a step-by-step preparation guide to help you score 35+ marks in Quant:
Start with the basics of Arithmetic—Percentages, Ratios, Averages, Time & Work, and Profit & Loss. A solid understanding of these core topics is essential because they form the base for both Arithmetic and Data Interpretation questions.
These three topics make up nearly 50% of the Prelims Quant section.
Practice all types of DIs — Table, Line Graph, Bar Graph, and Caselet. Start with simple ratio- and percentage-based sets, then move on to mixed DI sets that combine multiple concepts. Aim to solve 2 DI sets daily with accuracy.
Speed is the key in RRB PO. Learn Vedic Maths tricks for addition, multiplication, and square roots. Memorise squares up to 30, cubes up to 20, and common fraction-percentage conversions.
Arithmetic contributes around 10 questions in the Prelims. Practice real-world problem types like Time, Speed & Distance, Simple & Compound Interest, Partnership, Mixture, and Ages. Focus on understanding logic rather than memorising formulas.
Regular mock tests are essential to test your preparation level.
Attempt speed-based topics first (Simplification, Series, Quadratic). Then move to Data Interpretation and finally to Arithmetic. This ensures maximum accuracy in minimum time.
