The typing test is the final stage of the selection process for the Junior Assistant Typist post in IGNOU. The typing test for the IGNOU JAT exam will be held on September 18-19, 2023 at various centres across the country. The exact venue and time of the test will be communicated to the candidates through email and SMS. The candidates are advised to check their registered email and mobile number regularly for any updates. The candidates are also required to download their admit card from the official website of IGNOU and carry it along with a valid photo ID proof to the test centre.

Typing Test Pattern and Syllabus

The typing test for the IGNOU JAT exam will be of 10 minutes duration. The candidates will have to type a given passage in English on a computer. The passage will be displayed on the screen and the candidates will have to type it accurately and speedily. The minimum speed required is 35 words per minute. The typing test will assess the candidates’ proficiency in English language, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and formatting. The candidates are advised to practice typing regularly on a computer keyboard and familiarize themselves with the common shortcuts and commands.

  • Stay calm and confident during the test. Do not panic if you make a mistake or miss a word. You can use the backspace key to delete or correct your text.
