IDBI JAM Cut Off 2026: Expected Cut Off, Previous Year Trends and Safe Score
The IDBI JAM 2026 exam was on 12 April 2026.
For the 2026 recruitment cycle, IDBI has announced 1,100 vacancies for the Junior Assistant Manager (JAM) Grade ‘O’ position. Understanding how the cut-off has fluctuated—from the highs of 2021 to the significantly tougher papers of 2023–2025—is key to your strategy.
Based on the 1,100 vacancies and the increasing difficulty level seen in recent banking exams, the expected cut-off for the 2026 online test is projected below.
Note: If the exam follows the high-difficulty trend of 2023/24, these figures may drop significantly. Conversely, a moderate paper could see them rise toward the 2021 benchmarks.
| Category | Expected Cut-Off Range (Out of 200) |
| General (UR) | 85 – 95 |
| EWS | 82 – 90 |
| OBC | 80 – 88 |
| SC | 72 – 78 |
| ST | 62 – 70 |
With the exam on Sunday, stop chasing “number of attempts” and start chasing accuracy.
Don’t just look at 2021. The table below shows how the “Merit List” cut-offs have shifted over the years. Notice the sharp decline in 2023 due to an increase in paper difficulty.
| Category | 2024-25 (Est. Merit) | 2023 (Official) | 2022 (Official) | 2021 (Official) |
| General | 110.50 | 29.50 | 74.75 | 85.50 |
| EWS | 108.25 | 29.50 | 74.25 | 85.50 |
| OBC | 110.50 | 29.50 | 74.75 | 85.50 |
| SC | 101.25 | 13.75 | 62.25 | 77.25 |
| ST | 90.50 | 29.50 | 59.50 | 67.75 |
The 2023 cut-off was exceptionally low (29.50) because the paper was rated “Hard” across all shifts.
Once released (usually 15–20 days after the exam), follow these steps:
Bottom Line: Don’t go in with a fixed number of attempts in mind. Let the difficulty of the paper dictate your speed. Clear the sectional cut-offs first, then build your score.
