The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released the notification stating all the details of Specialist Officers Recruitment 2025 for various posts. The online application process has started from 1st July 2025, and the last date to apply online is 21st July 2025. It is important to know the eligibility criteria before you start applying for the exam. The eligibility criteria for the IBPS SO 2025 consist of educational qualification, Age limit and age relaxation, and nationality. Candidates intending to apply for CRP SPL – XV are advised to read the detailed Notification carefully and ensure that they fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria specified by IBPS in the notification on the stipulated dates before registering online. Candidates should note that the eligibility criteria specified are the basic criteria for appointment to the aforesaid posts in the Participating Banks.
However, merely applying for, qualifying in the CRP (Common Recruitment Process), and getting provisionally allotted in one of the Participating Banks does not imply that a candidate will necessarily be eligible for employment in any of the Participating Banks. It is expressly clarified that the ultimate authority for recruitment is the Participating Bank itself.
A candidate must be either –
(i) a Citizen of India or
(ii) a subject of Nepal or
(iii) a subject of Bhutan or
(iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of
permanently settling in India or
(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African
countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam to permanently settle in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
Below, we have discussed the age limit criteria for various Specialist Officer posts. The candidates belonging to the reserved category are eligible for the age relaxation as provided below.
Minimum age limit for all posts is 20 years and the Maximum age limit for all posts is 30 years.
i.e. A candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.07.1995 and not later than 01.07.2005 (both dates inclusive).

Note: Candidates should ensure that the educational qualification possessed by them shall be as per the prescribed educational qualifications mentioned in the notification and they fulfill the above eligibility criteria. No equivalent educational qualification shall be considered as eligible by IBPS or Participating Banks.
For posts other than IT Officer Scale I: Candidates should have Certificate/Diploma/Degree in computer operations/ Language/ should have studied Computer / Information Technology as one of the subjects in the High School/ College/ Institute.
Note: All the educational qualifications mentioned should be from a University/ Institution/ Board recognised by the Government. Of India/ approved by the Govt. Regulatory Bodies and the final result should have been declared on or before 21.07.2025.
The candidate applying shall ensure that, they maintain a healthy Credit history at the time of joining the Participating Banks.
The minimum credit score will be as per the policy of Participating Banks, amended from time to time.
Those candidates whose CIBIL or other similar agencies has not been updated before the date of joining, have to either get the status updated or produce the NOCs from lender to the effect that there is no outstanding with respect to the accounts adversely reflected in the report, failing which the letter of offer may be withdrawn / cancelled.
The final discretion in this regard remains with the allotted Bank.

(1) This clause does not apply to the candidates with no Bank account.
(2) This requirement is not a pre-condition to apply.
