IBPS RRB Clerk 2023 Prelims Exam Pattern

The IBPS RRB Clerk exam, also known as the Office Assistant exam, is conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) to recruit candidates for the post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose) in Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) across the country. Understanding the syllabus and exam pattern is crucial for effective preparation. Here’s an overview:

 

1. Exam Pattern: The IBPS RRB Clerk exam consists of two stages: Preliminary Exam and Main Exam.

Preliminary Exam:

  • The preliminary exam is conducted online and consists of objective-type questions.
  • It comprises two sections: Reasoning and Numerical Ability.
  • The duration of the exam is 45 minutes.
  • Candidates must qualify in both sections by securing the minimum cutoff marks to be eligible for the Main exam.
  • The marks obtained in the preliminary exam are not considered for final selection.

Main Exam:

  • The Main exam is also conducted online and consists of objective-type questions.
  • It comprises five sections: Reasoning, Numerical Ability, General Awareness, English Language, and Computer Knowledge.
  • The duration of the exam is 2 hours.
  • Candidates must qualify in each section by securing the minimum cutoff marks.
  • The final merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained in the Main exam.

2. Syllabus: The syllabus for the IBPS RRB Clerk exam includes the following subjects:

Reasoning:

  • Coding-Decoding
  • Puzzle and Arrangements
  • Syllogism
  • Blood Relations
  • Inequality
  • Direction Sense
  • Alphanumeric Series
  • Seating Arrangement
  • Ranking and Order
  • Input-Output

Numerical Ability:

  • Simplification/Approximation
  • Number Series
  • Data Interpretation
  • Quadratic Equations
  • Arithmetic Topics (Profit and Loss, Time and Work, Speed and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Percentage, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, etc.)

General Awareness:

  • Current Affairs (National and International)
  • Banking and Financial Awareness
  • Static GK (Important Dates, Awards and Honors, Countries and Capitals, etc.)
  • Banking Terminologies

English Language:

  • Reading Comprehension
  • Cloze Test
  • Error Spotting
  • Sentence Improvement
  • Para Jumbles
  • Fill in the Blanks
  • Vocabulary (Synonyms, Antonyms, Idioms and Phrases)

Computer Knowledge:

  • Basic Computer Fundamentals
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Internet and Email
  • Operating Systems
  • Computer Abbreviations

Candidates are advised to cover all topics mentioned in the syllabus and practice mock tests and previous year question papers to familiarize themselves with the exam pattern and improve their speed and accuracy. Additionally, staying updated with current affairs and practicing regularly will enhance their chances of success in the IBPS RRB Clerk 2023 exam.
