• This is 1 topic which has been mandatorily asked in all the banking exams.
• We strongly recommend that you solve 1 reading comprehension passage on a daily basis.
• When answering vocabulary based questions, have a look at the context of preceding & succeeding sentences to get an idea of the meaning of the word.
• There are 2 approaches to answering RC questions. Read the passage first and questions later or vice versa. Choose the approach which suits you.

Parajumbles

• To answer these questions, read all the parts and try to understand the gist of the passage.
• Try to identify the opening sentence & closing sentence by using these tips.
• Use connectors, pronouns, comparative adjectives etc. to find the link between different parts.
• Last but not least, practise rigorously.

Cloze Test

• To respond quickly and with accuracy, you should have practised a lot of questions beforehand.
• Just like parajumbles, read all the sentences and try to understand the context.
• Never read a sentence individually to fill a blank. Take cues from the preceding and succeeding sentences and the overall flow of the passage. Linking the sentences will definitely help you pick the right answer.
• While attempting to fill a blank, don’t have a look at the options. Think about what option comes to your mind. If that option is there, that is most likely the correct answer.

Error Spotting

• Knowing the grammatical rules will do the trick in answering error detection questions.
• The more you practice, the better & quicker you will be able to answer the questions.
• Often error detection questions are given in the form of a sentence different parts of which are separated by slashes (/). When you read such a question, don’t read the different parts separately. Read the complete sentence in one go. This will help you in identifying what is wrong in the sentence. Also reading the sentence with slashes takes more time and you definitely wouldn’t like to waste time unnecessarily.
• Practising at least 5-10 sets of questions on a daily basis will only help you identify the errors you are making and then you can rectify those.
