IBPS PO Mains 2022 Preparation Strategy

How to Prepare for General/Economy/Banking Awareness for IBPS PO Mains 2022?

1.      Focus on Banking and Finance News

Banking and financial awareness are key to scoring well in GA. Keep up with recent changes in banking, finance, and RBI updates. Learn about important terms like CRR, SLR, and Repo Rate, and read about any new rules or changes in banks. Check out big news related to bank mergers, loans, or banking policies. You should also study major banking committees and their reports. Reviewing these regularly will help you remember details for the exam. Follow a reliable finance news source to make this easy.

2. Make Current Affairs a Daily Habit

To stay updated, set aside 30 minutes each day to read about the latest national and international news, government programs, and major events. Focus on awards, sports, appointments, and deals between countries. Create brief notes on these topics and go over them weekly to keep everything fresh. A good newspaper like The Hindu will help you stay informed. With daily updates, you’ll find it easier to remember important information when revising before the exam.

3. Study Static GK Thoroughly

Static GK, or general knowledge that doesn’t change, covers topics like history, geography, and important dates. Focus on well-known places, rivers, national parks, historical events, and key people from history. Learn about special observance days and their themes. Creating short notes or flashcards for this will help with memorization. Since Static GK stays the same, what you learn can be useful not only for this exam but also for future ones.

4. Use Monthly Compilations and Quizzes for Practice

Monthly compilations summarize important news and are great for quick revision before the exam. Daily quizzes on current affairs can also help you remember what you’ve learned and see what you need to improve. Many online platforms offer these quizzes in a style similar to the real exam. Analyzing your quiz results helps you see where you’re strong and where you need more practice. This way, you get a clear picture of your readiness for the exam.

5. Take Mock Tests and Analyze Your Mistakes

Mock tests give you a feel of the real exam and help you practice time management. Plan to take one mock test each week, focusing on the GA section. Review your answers carefully to identify any weak areas, especially in Current Affairs and Banking Awareness. Pay attention to any repeated topics or patterns in questions. This will help you adjust your study plan to focus on the important topics. Mock tests also boost your confidence and help you perform better on the actual exam day.
