- Prelims Exam is just Qualifying in nature and every candidate has to be qualified in all the three sections by securing minimum sectional cut-off marks along with overall cut-off, that has to be decided by IBPS. After that candidates are eligible to sit in the mains examination.
- There is a negative marking of 1/4 mark per question for each wrong answer.
As you must have noticed that in the reasoning section, you need to solve 35 questions in 20 minutes. This is for sure going to be a challenging situation considering the fact that there is a negative marking of 0.25 mark. After all, you need to maintain a balance of speed and accuracy to make the most of this section. Remember that this section will have a mix of easy, moderate and difficult questions. And it does make sense to solve easy & moderate questions first before touching the difficult ones. With practice you will get the hang of it and it will get extremely easy for you to figure out during the actual exam. This is one of the reasons we recommend candidates to practice as many mock tests as possible so that you get the hang of solving different types and different level of questions.

Start Taking Sectional Tests
Start doing this for all the topics. This exercise should get over by November and as you keep giving sectional tests you will keep developing and will understand a lot of tricks to solve different types of questions. Now is the time to start taking tests in a controlled environment. Start taking sectional tests and use the report card to see which areas still have scope of improvement.
