  • Prelims Exam is just Qualifying in nature and every candidate has to be qualified in all the three sections by securing minimum sectional cut-off marks along with overall cut-off, that has to be decided by IBPS. After that candidates are eligible to sit in the mains examination.
  • There is a negative marking of 1/4 mark per question for each wrong answer.

As you must have noticed that in the reasoning section, you need to solve 35 questions in 20 minutes. This is for sure going to be a challenging situation considering the fact that there is a negative marking of 0.25 mark. After all, you need to maintain a balance of speed and accuracy to make the most of this section. Remember that this section will have a mix of easy, moderate and difficult questions. Start Taking Sectional Tests

Start doing this for all the topics. This exercise should get over by November and as you keep giving sectional tests you will keep developing and will understand a lot of tricks to solve different types of questions. Now is the time to start taking tests in a controlled environment. Start taking sectional tests and use the report card to see which areas still have scope of improvement. Start putting extra efforts in those areas and if at all, you get bored doing all this, remember that your competition is with around 9-10 lakh aspirants. This much understanding & practice will definitely help you identify the easy & moderate questions.

Use Mock Tests to Track & Improve Your Performance

Keep taking Mock Tests in between as well as you would definitely like to see your performance in a completely simulated test in a controlled environment. Use Mock Tests’ report card to assess your performance and put continuous efforts to improve. Also, don’t ignore the questions which you have answered incorrectly or the ones which you have skipped. Take help of the detailed solutions of the mock tests to understand why you couldn’t solve it or answered incorrectly. Remember, there is no alternative to practice. So keep practicing via Sectional/Mock Tests, use the analysis to review your performance and ace the reasoning section.

Wishing you good luck for your preparation!
