The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released the notification for the post of Customer Service Associates (CSA) on 31st July 2025 for 10,277 vacancies. Two banks have still not mentioned their vacancies, which are UCO Bank and Indian Bank. Therefore, it is highly probable that the vacancies will increase in the future. The candidates who are interested in filling out the form and want to appear in the exam must know the complete selection process. The recruitment process for the CRP-CSA-XV 2026-27 examination involves a Preliminary examination, a Mains examination, a Local Language Proficiency Test (added in 2025), and a Document Verification. The detailed step-by-step recruitment process for IBPS Clerk 2025 is discussed below.
The selection process of IBPS Clerk 2025 involves three stages of selection: Preliminary exam, Mains exam, and a local language proficiency test (LLPT).
The shortlisted candidates are called for the document verification process.
The Prelims exam is qualifying in nature, and the mains exam result is considered for final selection. But to be eligible for the mains exam, you need to first qualify for the Prelims exam.
No interview is conducted for IBPS Clerk posts.
The Provisional Allotment is done solely based on the IBPS Clerk Mains exam result.
The stage of the IBPS Clerk 2025 selection process is the Preliminary Examination. The Prelims exam is qualifying and consists of a total of 100 marks.
It includes Numerical Ability, Reasoning, and English Language sections.
The structure for the IBPS Clerk 2025 prelims exam is provided below.
| Sr. No. | Name of Tests | Medium of Examination | No. of Questions | Maximum Marks | Time Allotted for Each Test |

| Total | 100 | 100 | 60 minutes |
You need to secure cut-off marks in each section. An adequate number of candidates in each category, as decided by IBPS, depending upon requirements, will be shortlisted for the Online Main examination.
There have been major changes in the IBPS Clerk Mains examination pattern. The computer Aptitude questions that were previously mentioned with the Reasoning Ability section have been removed. And there have been major changes in the Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, and General/ Financial awareness sections.
Previously, the total number of questions, including all three sections, was 190, and now it has been reduced to 155. Total marks remain the same, that is, 200 marks. The total time has been reduced to 120 minutes (2 hours), previously it was 160 minutes (2 and a half hours).
The detailed structure of the IBPS Clerk Mains exam 2025 is provided below:
| Sr. No. | Name of Tests (NOT BY SEQUENCE) | Medium of Examination | No. of Questions | Maximum Marks | Time allotted for each test (Separately timed) |
| 1 | General/ Financial Awareness | According to the State/ UT applied for | 40 | 50 | 20 minutes |
| 2 | General English | English | 40 | 40 | 35 minutes |

| 4 | Quantitative Aptitude | According to the State/ UT applied for | 35 | 50 | 30 minutes |

The LLPT test is conducted to assess your proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the State/UT language for which you have applied for.
If you fail this test, you will be out from the selection process and you will not be appointed for the Customer Service Associate Job.
The following documents in original and self-attested photocopies in support of the candidate’s eligibility and identity are to be invariably submitted at the time of joining/document verification. Non-submission of requisite documents by the candidate at the time of joining/document verification will debar their candidature.
Candidates will not be allowed to join the allotted Participating Bank if they fail to produce the relevant eligibility documents as mentioned above.
The total marks allotted for the Online Mains Examination are 200.
Marks will be converted out of 100 for the Provisional allotment.
You need to qualify in the Online Main Examination to be considered for the provisional allotment process.
The details will be made available on the IBPS official website. (@ibps.in)
On completion of the Main Examination, candidates shortlisted will be provisionally allotted to one of the Participating Banks, based on merit-cum-preference, keeping in view the spirit of the Government.
In the event of two or more candidates having obtained the same score, merit order is decided as per date of birth (the candidate senior in age is placed before/ above the candidate junior in age), as per the prevailing practice.
A reserve list to the extent of approximately 30 percent of the vacancies under each category may be kept, subject to the availability of candidates.
Changes have been made in the General Awareness, Reasoning, and Quant sections as mentioned below:
You need to obtain a minimum score in each test of the Online Mains Examination and also a minimum total score to be considered for further processing. That means sectional cut-offs and overall cut-offs apply.
The corrected scores obtained by each of the candidates in different sessions (if held) will be normalized using the equi-percentile method.
Scores up to two decimal points shall be taken for the purpose of calculations.
The Equi-percentile Method adjusts the scores of candidates from different shifts to bring them to a common scale, ensuring fairness in evaluation despite varying levels of question difficulty.
In exams like IBPS PO or Clerk, candidates appear in multiple shifts (morning, afternoon, evening) with different question papers. To ensure a level playing field, scores are normalized using this method.
Suppose a candidate scored 70 marks in Shift 1, and this score puts them in the 90th percentile.
In Shift 2, the 90th percentile corresponds to a score of 68 marks due to a harder paper.
After normalization using the Equi-percentile Method, the candidate’s score would be adjusted accordingly to ensure comparability.
