The official notification for IBPS Clerk 2025 has been released on 31st July. The online application process begins on August 1, 2025. This year, IBPS has announced 10,277 vacancies. What is the Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT)?

Students applying for a specific state/UT must be proficient in the local language (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding). Here’s what you need to know:

  • You must choose one language for LLPT at the time of online application mentioned in the official notification.
  • If you have studied the local language in 10th standard or above, you are exempt from the test.
  • The test will be conducted after the mains exam / provisional allotment, but before final joining.
  • It is qualifying in nature, and if you fail to clear it means you are disqualified from the selection process.
  • The test will be conducted by the bank or an independent agency, and the students must pass it to get final selection.

IBPS Clerk Prelims Exam Pattern

The Preliminary Exam of the IBPS Clerk exam consists of three sections: English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning. It is conducted in an online mode, and Students must qualify for the prelims exam to be eligible for the Mains Exam.

  • There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.
  • The IBPS Prelims Exam is 1 hour, consisting of three sections with 20 minutes allotted for each.
