  • Flat & Floor Puzzle
  • Linear Row + Variable
  • Square Seating Arrangement
  • Chinese Coding
  • Direction & Distance
  • Syllogism

  • Pair Formation
  • Odd One Out

Tips to Prepare the Reasoning Section in a Smart Way

Here are a few tips. By following them, you can smartly prepare the reasoning section. Also, for day-wise topic preparation, you can check out our NIACL AO Study plan.

Do not start your preparation with Puzzles

Yes, you read it right! Do not start your preparation with puzzles, as they are a bit tricky and require a lot of time. Instead, what you can do is during the first three days practice alphanumeric series, syllogism, word or pair formation. It will help you to get accustomed to the nature of the reasoning section. Once you get the tricks and your brain starts working in the same direction, then you can head towards the Puzzles.

Make Several Diagrams

In reasoning questions, you will always be presented with at least 2-3 clues that are taking you to two different directions. Draw both conclusions on a piece of paper and proceed accordingly. Ultimately, what comes to the end or matches the given options is your answer. This technique is specifically very useful in solving floor-based puzzles and linear arrangements.

Solve Blood Relation Questions Using Flowcharts

Solve Blood Relation questions using flowcharts, as this will help you in getting to the right answer, and that too in less time. As you have already gone through the exam pattern, you know that there is a sectional time limit. So using diagrams, flow charts, and arrows as symbols for direction sense helps a lot in saving time.

Practice Daily to Enhance Your Accuracy

While you’re in the preparatory stage, focus more on the accuracy part rather than speed. Because once you know how to crack the question correctly, you will build momentum with practice. As already mentioned above, after three days, start solving puzzles every day. Make sure to solve 3 sets daily of easy to difficult levels.

Give a Mock test and analyse your mistakes

It is necessary to check your progress, where you are doing great, and where you’re lacking in preparation. All these can be estimated only by giving mocks a regular intervals. Say, for the first seven days, give only two mocks, and later on, increase the frequency accordingly.
