Essay Writing Tips IBPS PO

  1. Stick to the Topic you are Writing on:

Be precise with what you are writing. Make sure that a candidate is not diverted from the topic. Quality of the content will surely matter, thus it is important to stick to the topic.

  • Structuring the Essay is important

An essay writing generally consists of three paragraphs at least. Even if you have sound knowledge about the topic you are writing on, random writing won’t help unless it is well structured. The 1st paragraph should be introductory, 2nd should be the body and last paragraph should always be the conclusion.

  • No Grammatical Errors

While writing an essay one should be thorough with basic grammar rules as any grammatical or spelling errors are to be avoided.

  • Simple Language to be used

Some may think that writing a hi-fi language may fetch you good score, however it is absolutely not the case. Essay should be written in the simplest of language so that your idea and thought should be well understood by whosoever is evaluating it.

  • Correct Figure or Data to be included

If you are writing an essay on something factual then make sure that you use only that information including data or figures that are factual or correct.

  • First paragraph should be brief

A brief introduction to be given in the first paragraph of the essay. Just an outline of the topic can be explained.

  • Sticking to the Word Limit is important

Always try to stick to the word limit, no matter even if you have extensive knowledge about the subject/topic.

  • Be neutral for few topics

An essay can either be for or against the topic, however make sure that if the subject is related to religion or politics then try to stay neutral rather than going for or against it.
