The Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India (ECGC) recruits dynamic and qualified candidates for the post of Probationary Officer (PO) every year. The ECGC PO Selection Process 2025 is a two-stage procedure that evaluates candidates on their analytical ability, financial awareness, and communication skills. It is designed to select candidates who can efficiently handle the responsibilities of a Probationary Officer in a specialized organization like ECGC, which deals with export credit insurance and risk management. In this blog, we will walk you through the ECGC PO Selection Process 2025, including each stage, the exam pattern, and marking scheme for both objective and descriptive papers.

ECGC PO 2025 Selection Process

The ECGC PO recruitment process consists of two main stages:

Stage 1 – Online Examination
Stage 2 – Interview

Candidates must qualify in each stage to be shortlisted for the final selection. The overall performance in both the online exam and interview will determine the final merit list.

Stage 1 – ECGC PO Online Examination

The first stage is an Online Examination, which includes two parts:

  1. Objective Test (MCQs)
  2. Descriptive Test (English Writing Skills)

The objective test checks your conceptual clarity and aptitude in various subjects, while the descriptive test evaluates your English writing proficiency an essential skill for any officer-level post.

ECGC PO Objective Test 2025

The objective test comprises 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) carrying 1 mark each, with a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.

The test is conducted online and is divided into five sections each with separate timing.
