Bank of India (BOI), a leading Public Sector Bank, has released a notification for the recruitment of Credit Officers in the General Banking Officer (GBO) stream. This recruitment drive (Project No. 2025-26/01) aims to fill 514 vacancies across various scales (MMGS-II, MMGS-III, and SMGS-IV).

 

The online application process begins on December 20, 2025. Here is a comprehensive breakdown of the notification, eligibility, and selection process.

Eligibility Criteria (As on 01.11.2025)

1. Educational Qualification & Experience

Candidates must hold a degree from a recognized university. The specific requirements per scale are:

  • Credit Officer (MMGS-II):
    • Qualification: A Degree in any discipline with 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD).
    • Preferred: CA / CFA / ICWA / MBA / PGDBM in Banking or Finance.
    • Experience: Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience as an officer, with at least 2 years in processing MSME/Commercial/Corporate Credit in Scheduled Commercial Banks.
  • Credit Officer (SMGS-IV):
    • Qualification: Similar degree requirements as Scale II.
    • Experience: Minimum 8 years of post-qualification experience as an officer, out of which 5 years should be in MSME/Commercial Credit/Project Finance.

2. Nationality

A candidate must be a Citizen of India, a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or a Tibetan Refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanent settlement.

Selection Procedure

The selection will be based on an Online Examination followed by a Personal Interview.

Phase I: Online Examination Structure

The exam consists of 4 sections with a total of 150 marks.

  • Note: The English Language test is of qualifying nature only and marks will not be added to the merit list.
  • Penalty: 0.25 marks deducted for every wrong answer.

Phase II: Interview

Candidates who qualify in the online exam will be called for an interview in a ratio of roughly 1:311.

Salary & Service Conditions

Selected candidates will be placed in the respective pay scales:

  • MMGS-II: ₹64,820 – ₹93,960
  • MMGS-III: ₹85,920 – ₹105,280
  • SMGS-IV: ₹1,02,300 – ₹120,940

Security Deposit:

Selected candidates must deposit a security amount, refundable after 3 years of satisfactory service:

  • MMGS-II: ₹2,00,000
  • MMGS-III & Above: ₹3,00,000

Application Fees

  • SC/ST/PWD: ₹175 (Intimation charges only)
  • General & Others: ₹850 (Application fee + Intimation charges)

  3. Register as a new user and receive a Provisional Registration Number and Password.
  4. Upload scanned photograph, signature, left thumb impression, and handwritten declaration.
  5. Pay the application fee online between 20.12.2025 and 05.01.2026.
